Hi, I’m Lisa Gladstone…
I’m a Baby Boomer-ish Internet Marketer who transitioned out of my full time consulting work and now earn a great income online from the comfort of my home. And since I made that transition, I’ve never looked back!
I coach lots of aspiring Internet Marketers on how to earn enough money online to supplement their income and eventually replace their full time jobs with their online marketing income. I LOVE my community of Marketers! I always hoped I could get to the place I am today…
As a young girl, I was actually one of those young people who who said, “I’m going to own my own business!” – even when I was in high school. Maybe that’s because both of my parents were entrepreneurs. I saw their excitement for starting and growing businesses.
When I got out of undergraduate school with my accounting degree, I did what many accountants did – I got a job with a public accounting firm. I worked there for a short time, but realized that it was not for me. So I joined a big bank as an auditor. Over several years, I still harbored dreams of owning my own business. And even as I went to MBA School at night, I was looking around for a business to start.
As I finished my last semester of B School, the opportunity came… I was in a business planning class, and I chose a home nursing business as my class project. As the semester unfolded, the business plan looked better and better. So I decided to start the business after the semester ended (my last semester of B School, too!)
That’s how I launched my entrepreneurial career. Sometimes people ask me if I ever felt fear, and I have to say, “No, I really didn’t. Not even once.” Now, that may be rare, but for me, it’s the truth.
That first nursing business was a success, but not without its struggle and frustrations. After that, it’s been one entrepreneurial business after another.
I worked on my first website in 2002. In fact, I bought domain names for all my close friends, most of whom are still using them today. Until 2005, when I started to do keyword research and help companies with their websites. It was the year after Facebook was founded (2004), the same year YouTube was founded, but before Twitter (2006) and Tumblr (2007).
By 2006, I was teaching clients about keywords and search engines, and working SEO into my clients’ websites. It was groundbreaking stuff. Search Engine Optimization was starting to emerge. I had a passion for it, and it was a natural extension of my offline consulting business. I loved it! Sounds nerdy, but SEO was truly something I chose to do even if I wasn’t paid for it. (I still think it’s fun!)
Word of mouth spread, and I had clients by referral. Within a few years, social networks arrived on the scene full steam ahead. I jumped on the ship and became a part of the unstoppable evolution that is my professional playground today.
For an example of my SEO work: For a client’s new website build, I keyword optimized for the core keyword phrase Shuffleboard Nashville – and within 30 days it ranked FIRST PAGE GOOGLE whereas it previously did not show up in Google at all for that keyword.
Social Media Strategy
“Lisa Chapman’s thoughtful and insightful approach to social media strategy was instrumental in the launch of an important initiative for craigslist founder Craig Newmark. She is a pleasure to work with.“
I continue to help clients with social media strategy and marketing – to establish and promote their brands on the Internet, and to increase traffic, engage visitors and convert them into loyal customers.

To what do I attribute my success?
You DON’T need confidence to start working as a freelance writer! Trust me, you don’t! You just need courage to take that first step.
“Take the next step, BELIEVE, and you WILL SUCCEED.” – Lisa Chapman
What’s that next step? It depends on where you are in your journey, whether you are brand new or you already have some experience. Either way, every step you take will help you build confidence.
Think of it as a journey, and stop looking at the destination as some far-off goal that is way in the future. Take the next step, BELIEVE, and you WILL SUCCEED.
